  • 0.5 cup salted butter (softened) Provides richness and flavor.
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the dough perfectly.
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar Adds moisture and depth of flavor.
  • 1 large egg Binds the ingredients together.
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter (not natural) The star ingredient providing flavor and creaminess.
  • 1 tsp vanilla Enhances overall flavor profile.
  • 44 whoppers For the spider body, adding crunch and sweetness.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips To create delicious chocolate ganache legs and eyes.
  • 1 small tube white cake decorating gel For detailing the eyes on the spiders.
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar (for rolling) Coats the cookies before baking for added sweetness and crunch.

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined without overmixing.
  5. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and then roll each ball in granulated sugar before placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for about 8 minutes or until edges are set but centers are soft. Remove from oven, immediately press a Whopper onto each cookie's center while still warm, then let cool completely before decorating with melted chocolate legs and eyes using cake decorating gel for detail.
