Banana Base
  • 4 medium ripe bananas peeled and cut in half
Peanut Butter Layer
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter or almond butter
Chocolate Coating
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips melted
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil to help with melting
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts for garnish

Method

Prepare the Bananas
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the bananas in half and place them on the baking sheet.
  2. Using a knife, spread a layer of peanut butter on each banana half.
Freeze the Bananas
  1. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 2 hours, or until the bananas are firm.
Melt the Chocolate
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Melt in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Coat the Bananas
  1. Remove the frozen bananas from the freezer. Dip each banana half into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
  2. Return the coated bananas to the baking sheet and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
Final Freeze
  1. Place the baking sheet back in the freezer for another hour to allow the chocolate to set.
Serve
  1. Once the chocolate has hardened, remove the bananas from the freezer and serve immediately.
